Immersive Technologies for Higher and Further Education: Design and Applications
This course explores the use of immersive technologies in teaching activities. This course is aimed at Higher and Further Education lecturers and learning technologists that would like to get started in embedding immersive technologies, such as VR, AR and MR, into their classroom teaching as an integral part of the learning experience.
Over five weeks, participants will explore the following topics:
- Learning pedagogies for Immersive Technologies
- Introduction to Extended Realities and the Metaverse for education
- Designing immersive experiences for the classroom
- Applications of different immersive technologies to higher education
- Digital twins
This course is equivalent to 10 credits at SCQF Level 8.
Virtual Learning Environment Development and Applications - China
This intensive course introduces participants to VLEs and Virtual Environments, exploring pedagodies and applications of VR for the Chinese education sector. This course is aimed at Higher and Further Education lecturers and learning technologists in China that would like to get started in embedding immersive technologies, such as VR, AR and MR, into their classroom teaching as an integral part of the learning experience.
Over two weeks, participants will explore the following topics:

- Learning pedagogies for Immersive Technologies
- Introduction to Extended Realities and the Metaverse in China
- Designing immersive experiences for the classroom
- Applications of different immersive technologies to higher education
